About the Artist

Julia Brine earned a BA cum laude in Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University, ‘77. She went on to get an MFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute, College of Art, ‘81. In the ’80’s, she was part of New York’s Lower East Side art scene, including ABC No Rio, Colab and Fashion Moda.

Julia is currently working on a botanical watercolor series with an emphasis on berries and leaves.

She teaches art, including plein-air workshops in her 6-acre Brine Garden, Pawling, Dutchess County, NY.
